There are many islands off the coast of Belize called Cayes, pronounced “keys.” One of them, Caye Caulker, will be our destination for a day trip.
A major event on Caye Caulker is Lobster Fest, which celebrates the opening of lobster season. We may be lucky enough to visit during this local tradition. The caye has a very bohemian feel and it is even possible to rent a hammock instead of a hotel room!
